Cook Medical introduces Holmium laser system for urological procedures

19 August 2013

Cook Medical has announced that its  H-30 Holmium urology laser system is available in the United States and Europe. It can be used in a variety of urological procedures, including treatments for patients with kidney or bladder stones.

The H-30 laser features a variable pulse for the fragmentation of stones. This allows physicians to either break up the stone into removable pieces or disintegrate the stone. It also has several user-friendly features, such as a touchscreen control panel and a green aiming beam.

The H-30 laser uses Cook Holmium Laser Fibers with SmartSync technology that, when used with the H-30, communicates with the system during the treatment to record all relevant data about the laser’s function.

“Our goal is to be the reference stone management solution partner and the H-30 is a significant milestone in supporting this effort,” said Jean-Marc Creissel, global leader of Cook’s Urology clinical division.
