Orthodynamics launches injectable ceramic bone filler in UK

22 April 2013

Orthodynamics, part of UK-based Summit Medical Group, and Swedish company Bone Support AB have established a partnership to promote the use of Cerament Bone Void Filler and Cerament G into the UK market.

Cerament Bone Void Filler is an osteoconductive ceramic biomaterial intended for orthopaedic applications as a filler for gaps and voids that are not intrinsic to the stability of the bony structure. It is indicated to be injected into bony voids or gaps in the skeletal system, ie extremities and pelvis. These defects may be surgically created osseous defects or osseous defects from traumatic injury to the bone.

Cerament G is a bone void filler that elutes gentamicin antibiotic. This product not only promotes new bone growth, but it also protects the process by a predictable elution of gentamicin antibiotic (in vitro model).

Cerament Bone Void Filler and Cerament G is a flowable paste that can be delivered through a narrow gauge needle; it is not temperature dependent; has a predictable setting time and you are able to mould the material to fit the void.
