Siemens launches Acuson P300 portable ultrasound system in UK

12 July 2012

Siemens Healthcare's Acuson P300 portable ultrasound system is designed to meet the diverse imaging needs for a wide spectrum of patients, body types and clinical disciplines. It is aimed at radiology and general imaging to cardiovascular imaging, from obstetrics and gynaecology, to specialty imaging including musculoskeletal, breast and small parts.

The P300 offers high image quality for both routine and specialty applications. It has 13 multi-frequency transducers including specialty laparoscopic and intra-operative probes for interventional procedures. With a frequency range of up to 18 MHz, these multi-frequency transducers allow a selection of several imaging frequencies to meet different scan depth requirements without having to change transducers. The system enables linear, convex, phased array and endocavity transducers to provide scanning solutions for a wide range of clinical cases.

The P300 system also features advanced image optimisation tools such as panoramic imaging, speckle reduction and spatial compounding. These optimise the imaging data automatically to improve diagnostic confidence and support efficient clinical workflow.

“The new ACUSON P300 is an excellent solution for any department where space is limited and fast diagnosis is essential,” said Bernadette Leonard, Regional Sales and Clinical Applications Manager Ultrasound and Echocardiology Products at Siemens Healthcare. “The small footprint of this new product, alongside its portability, excellent image quality and broad spectrum of applications, make this system a great solution for almost any clinical environment.”
