The Velcro Companies exhibit innovative solutions at Medica
3 November 2011
The Velcro Companies, worldwide leaders in fastening systems,
will be showcasing a range of new value-added healthcare solutions at
this year’s Medica, Dusseldorf, 16-19 November 2011 (stand H43 / Hall
6).
Constantly at the forefront of design and innovation, the
Velcro Companies work closely with global leading medical companies
to create best-in-class products that enhance the quality of life
for patients.
The Velcro Brand products can be used in a wealth of medical
applications, from disposable, single-use devices, such as patient
gowns, surgical tubing and tracheostomy straps, to high-end durable
devices intended for long-term reuse, such as braces, corsets and
maternity support belts.
The Velcro Companies’ dedicated global team of medical
specialists closely monitor emerging trends to bring innovative
solutions and products with value-added results to its customers.
Recent progressions have seen an increased demand for
anti-microbial technology to avoid cross-contamination, which has
resulted in the development of Velcro Brand antibacterial closures
for long-term applications that kill bacteria.
Frank Jäger, Medical SBU Manager for the Velcro Companies,
comments: “In the last two years we have completely re-structured
our organisation, introducing a team of global medical specialists
dedicated to understanding the industry’s requirements and creating
new solutions for our customers.
"Reflecting the demand for long-term applications is the related
trend showing a demand for single use products, for which we have
created disposable and recyclable closures to avoid the waste
problems that the market is experiencing. We are extremely proud to
present these value-added innovations at Medica this year.”
The Velcro Companies will be exhibiting a range of long-term and
single-use products alongside other pioneering medical solutions,
including skin friendly adhesives and breathable materials. The
global foot print of the Velcro Medical division will be visible on
stand H43 / Hall 6, where representatives from all global
regions will be on hand to provide product know how and to discuss
the new concepts.
Supplying raw materials to complete finished goods,
the Velcro Companies offer a large product portfolio of innovative
healthcare solutions, supplying customers with tapes, customized
converting services, as well as sub-assembly and OEM manufacture of
finished goods through a worldwide network of production and
distribution centres.
