High quality diagnostic testing and manufacturing showcased at
MEDICA
11 Nov 2010
Contract manufacture services for lateral flow assays will be
showcased at MEDICA this month by York-based company Forsite
Diagnostics.
Forsite is one of the few independent companies in Europe to offer
automated manufacture of lateral-flow assays to third parties. The
company offers a complete package from assay design to manufacturing
including finishing, packing and logistics. All done to the highest
ISO9001 and ISO13485 standards.
Its high-specification facilities and state-of-the-art automated
equipment allow the company to maintain the highest quality of
manufacture, giving them the flexibility for batch sizes to meet the
needs of new entrants and established players.
This flexibility allows the company to deliver production runs from
5000 to 5 million assays with the same quality and consistency.
This is the first time Forsite have showcased at MEDICA and the
company is also looking to promote its state-of-the-art lateral flow
device (LFD) reader, which will be launched in early 2011.

The instrument complements the assays the company manufactures,
giving customers a bespoke route for moving into quantitative
products. The reader is portable, can be used in the development of
assays as well as by end-users for quantification of assay results
and is able to read assays based on latex and colloidal gold. It is
currently being beta-tested and will be available for market release
in early 2011.
Paul Meakin, Head of Marketing, said: “We offer a complete
package for companies who are interested in lateral flow
diagnostics, whatever their manufacturing needs and will be at
MEDICA to promote this service to companies around the world.
MEDICA will be taking place between the 17 - 20 November 2010 at
the Messe Düsseldorf, Germany. Forsite can be found on stand H16 G10
along with other UK exhibitors.
