TomTec announces cardiology PACS
7 April 2008
TomTec Imaging Systems, a Munich-based producer of 3D/4D ultrasound
and echocardiography information management systems, has announced it
will launch a cardiology picture archiving and communication system (PACS)
in 2008.
TomTec's CardioArena is a network and imaging solution for 2D, 3D,
and 4D imaging data. CardioArena serves as multimodality platform for
all major medical imaging systems such as ultrasound, MRI and Cathlab.
CardioArena has a modular structure that enables it to be tailored
towards private practices, group practices and large hospitals. It has
workflow oriented solutions that allow for advanced communication,
efficient quantification, analysis and reporting.
Dedicated clinical application packages process and analyse data from
various imaging modalities with the same (one) analysis method, thus
measurement results among different modalities become more comparable.
For existing enterprise PACS and CPACS environments, CardioArena can
be an add-on solution that opens up opportunities for new medical
imaging technologies like 3D/4D echocardiography.
Frank Schlau, Chief Marketing Officer said, “In today’s clinical
cardiac settings, effective communication amongst physicians and
individual departments is a must. The availability of patient, image and
analysis data at the place-and-time-of-care is a common goal of
physicians and hospital administrations. Also, clinicians and patients
need to have access to the best and most cost-effective diagnostic tools
available, independent of the imaging modality."
