EQ2 signs UK distribution agreement with BCAS Biomedical Engineering

19 March 2008

Medical equipment information systems software company EQ2 has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with BCAS Biomedical Engineering Ltd, a UK provider of clinical equipment services to hospitals, primary care trusts, field surgical units, and emergency response providers.

Under the agreement, BCAS will market and support all of EQ2’s hospital equipment management systems (HEMS) products exclusively in the UK.

EQ2’s product line, called the HEMS Enterprise Suite, enables health care organisations such as hospitals and health clinics to manage their capital equipment, ranging from clinical instruments involved directly with patient care to facility equipment and systems such as HVAC, gas and electrical systems, beds and elevators.

BCAS will market EQ2's HEMS Enterprise, Web Request and EQ2 Mobile products for clinical equipment management. These products help clinical engineers and technicians ensure a safe and efficient medical environment for every aspect of patient care, from the delivery of routine exams to critical surgeries.

James Smith, president of EQ2, said, “Our twenty years of experience in managing medical care equipment and supplies, combined with BCAS’s understanding of the UK’s complex health care system will provide UK healthcare facilities with a level of safety and reliability previously unavailable anywhere outside the US.”

EQ2 Inc, headquartered in Burlington, Vermont, USA, is a privately-held company founded in 1993 as a University of Vermont technology transfer start-up.
