Viking Systems expands in Central Europe
24 September 2007 Viking Systems, Inc. (VKSY.OB), a San Diego-based
manufacturer of high-performance laparoscopic vision systems for use in
minimally invasive surgical procedures, has expanded its distribution
network in Europe by signing up a new partner, Biomedica Medizinprodukte
GMBH & CO KG.
Under the terms of the agreement, Biomedica will exclusively market and
sell Viking's 3Di Vision System technology in Austria, the Czech Republic,
Hungary, Slovakia, Switzerland, Poland, and Romania. Biomedica, which is
headquartered in Vienna, Austria, are experts in the distribution of
advanced medical devices in the fields of cardiology, nephrology,
orthopaedics, and intensive care.
Dr Marenzi, managing director of Biomedica, said, "The Central European
medical device market is demanding that the investment in capital equipment
yield the latest technology available at reasonable prices and must be
simple to operate. Viking System's technology brings a proprietary 3D
visualization system to the market that is affordable and allows the surgeon
more precision in the operating room with minimal training.''
