EC tender for study on exposure to electromagnetic fields from MRI equipment

The European Commission's Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities has issued a call for tenders for an investigation into occupational exposure to electromagnetic fields for personnel working with and around medical magnetic resonance imaging equipment.

The deadline for requesting tender documents is 26 March 2007.
and for submitting tender documents, 20 April 2007.

The study should be conducted in designated medical MRI facilities. Results will be analysed and exposure values will be assessed on the basis of the measured physical values and the derived exposure values compared to the exposure limit values after application of at least two modelling methods. Exposure to other physical agents will also be considered.
