SonoSite's hand-carried ultrasound passes 25,000 systems worldwide

7 December 2005

Bothell, Wash. USA. SonoSite, Inc. has announced it has shipped over 25,000 systems worldwide. The company shipped its first system in 1999, launching a new era in medical imaging where the benefits of high performance ultrasound could be brought to the point of care, wherever the patient is located, rather than bringing the patient to the ultrasound system.

"We thank our customers for helping us reach this milestone event in our company's history," said Kevin M. Goodwin, SonoSite President and CEO. "By working together, it has been possible to bring the patient care benefits of ultrasound visualization to clinical applications across medicine."

In a recent independently conducted survey, commissioned by the company, customers gave SonoSite products an overall satisfaction rating of 97% based on image quality, ease of use, durability, reliability and ergonomic transducer design.

The company was recently awarded the prestigious 2005 Good Design Award in Japan for the MicroMaxx system, and recognized as the "Fastest Growing Medical Imaging Company" by Frost and Sullivan.
