MILWAUKEE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 4, 2005--CRITICARE SYSTEMS, INC. (AMEX:CMD - News). Criticare Systems, Inc. today announced the release of a new technology platform for non-invasive blood pressure measurement utilizing a traditional BP cuff. This system is based on the Criticare-pioneered "on inflation" principal but adds a greater level of patient comfort, safety, accuracy, reading speed and tolerance of a wide range of physical and environmental conditions. Its unique gentler pressure feature addresses all patients, but in particular, reduces a potentially painful experience when used on children and the elderly.

The accuracy of the system is supported by its passing the very stringent criteria of the latest US regulatory protocol, AAMI SP 10, 2002. Furthermore, the system also complies with the latest European regulatory requirements of the European Society of Hypertension International Protocol for validation of blood pressure measuring devices.

Criticare believes it is one of the first patient monitoring companies worldwide to adhere to both of these standards. This technology is now in production at Criticare and will also be offered on an OEM basis.

Criticare (www.csiusa.com) designs, manufactures, and markets cost-effective patient monitoring systems and noninvasive sensors for a wide range of hospitals and alternate health care environments throughout the world. Although the above referenced technology operates within the functional boundaries of Criticare's previous products, the supporting clinical data indicates a significant improvement in the actual clinical experience.
